E could sue B personally in MD, if B was dumb enough to get caught in MD.
S could challenge smj in the original proceedings, whether in the trial court, or in the course of the contempt process, or on appeal. But in a subsequent litigation, the jurisdiction to determine jurisdiction doctrine would preclude any attack on smj for the prior judgment.
